East Passyunk is a lively South Philly neighborhood that runs from Tasker Street to Snyder Avenue, between Broad and 6th Streets. It offers heaps of good restaurants and plenty of shopping.

Check out all the spots mentioned below in this google map. (Google Maps)
Something to eat: Head to Barcelona Wine Bar to indulge in dishes like spiced beef empanadas and mussels al diablo. The menu is constantly changing, and focuses on seasonal ingredients from Spain and the Mediterranean.
City Cast Philly producer Abby Fritz has many positive things to say about this spot.
“Barcelona Wine Bar is hard to miss, with an Oscar Wilde quote, ‘I can resist anything except temptation,' plastered across a marquee-style sign. This was true for the steamed mussels and a very shareable aperitivo board that featured popular dishes like patatas bravas, olives, and marcona almonds. If you’re not much of a sweet wine person, like me, there’s many notable wines and a mezcal cocktail called the Alebrijes, which is my go-to drink on the menu.”
Something to do: If you’re a bookworm, check out A Novel Idea on Passyunk Avenue, a community-minded bookstore and event space. You can find books, greeting cards, stickers, apparel, and mugs. You can also register for events like book signings and Tarot card readings.
Something to see: One of the neighborhood’s most popular landmarks is the Singing Fountain, located in the triangle formed by Passyunk Ave, Tasker and 11th Streets. It’s a great relaxation spot, with tables and benches, and speakers that are always playing music.
