Your Guide to January 2025 in Philly

New year, new events in Philly! I can already tell 2025 is gonna be great and what better way to kick it off than with musical performances, massive expos, fun winter activities, and the Eagles? Here’s your guide to January in Philadelphia.

🕺 Performances to Enjoy This New Year

So many performances are coming to the city this month. Kicking things off on Jan. 7, Driving Miss Daisy takes the stage at the Walnut Street Theatre. Follow the story of Miss Daisy and her driver Hoke as they form a powerful friendship.

If you want to bop in your seat, MJ the Musical will be at the Academy of Music starting Jan. 8. This Tony Award-winning show is a performance you won’t want to miss.

Then on Jan. 10, head to Marian Anderson Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Lunar New Year Celebration. The orchestra’s program melds classical works with traditional Chinese music.

🚗 🧑‍🌾 Expos You Shouldn’t Miss

Fast cars or farm fun? Why not both? The 109th Pennsylvania Farm Show is coming to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg from Jan. 4-11. There’s a massive butter sculpture, a whoopie pie contest, and a rabbit demonstration. Snuggle with a baby goat, and don’t forget your cowboy boots for the rodeo. Yee-Haw! 🤠

After that, gear up for the Philadelphia Auto Show running from Jan. 11 to Jan. 20 at the Philly Convention Center. There’ll be a ton of vehicles to check out from sleek sports cars to classic antiques.

❄️ The Cold Never Bothered Us Anyway

Franklin Square will host an Ice Princess Weekend on Jan. 25 and 26 from 5-7 p.m. Your kids can skate with their favorite Disney princesses during this free event.

For any adults looking to escape the cold, head to Ardmore Music Hall on Jan. 11 at 12:30 p.m. for the Winter Beer Fest. With an island-inspired theme, this festival makes you think you’re on a tropical vacation. General admission tickets are $55.

🏈 For the Philly Fanatics

The Eagles have their last game in Philadelphia on Jan. 4 or 5 against the New York Giants. They’ll play at Lincoln Financial Field and although the date and time are not yet determined, you can secure tickets now. If you can’t make it to the game but want to try to see a former Eagle in person, you can try to get tickets for one of Jason Kelce’s late-night show recordings. Request free tickets for various days in January here.
