More than 800 restaurants set up outdoor dining spaces during the pandemic, but more recent city regulations have closed down many of these patios. Although it’s a little harder now to find a place to enjoy an outdoor meal, fret not — we’ve got the guide on the best outdoor eateries in Philly with the help of Ben Fileccia from the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association.

He was recently on the City Cast Philly podcast making our mouths water. Here are some of his recommendations:

Named one of Esquire’s “100 Restaurants America Can’t Afford to Lose,” Fork offers seasonal and contemporary American cuisine and an exciting wine list.

What better way to enjoy a taco and tequila than on a patio with your favorite people? Ben loves this streetery because it’s always packed and energetic.

Ben loves this restaurant’s beautiful back garden for indulging in their award-winning Levantine cuisine that pays homage to the owner’s grandmother, Suraya.

For a spot outside of the city, Ben recommends this spot for some of the best Italian food in the region.

These are just a few of Ben’s many recommendations. Listen to this conversation for more eateries and to hear what’s in store for Philly’s outdoor dining scene this summer.

I’m hungry. Give me more recs!
