May is National Pet Month, and Philly is a city of pet owners. More than 700,000 households in Philadelphia have at least one dog, and more than 560,000 households have at least one cat, according to the latest U.S Census data.

Whether you have furry friends or your pets are aquatic, Accent on Animals at 804 South Street has everything you need.
Accent on Animals carries a wide range of products for dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, turtles, fish, and birds. You can find comfy beds, long-lasting chew toys, food, litter boxes, cleaning products, and of course, plenty of fun toys.
Don’t forget to treat your pets to some bakery treats. My puppy quickly devoured a cupcake I bought from here.

Does your dog or cat have a bad case of the “zoomies?” Accent on Animals has plenty of CBD edibles and oils that reduce anxiety and help your pet to calm down and sleep better. Believe me, they really work 💤
My other favorite store is Doggie Style, which has several local locations. It has all the basics: leashes, waste supplies, cleaning products, and food, but it also has flea and tick medication, nutritional supplements, bakery fresh treats, and cute accessories.
Doggie Style has also partnered with local shelter nonprofit Saved Me, so you can adopt a dog and shop for their essentials at the same spot!
